The $8.5M Purolator project was a major expansion to the aircraft parking area around its Plant at the Hamilton Airport. The project allows larger, more efficient aircraft to move throughout the airport, expanding the volume of cargo the plant can handle. The work completed by Rankin Construction Inc. included over 90,000m3 of earth works, placing 9,000 tonnes of asphalt and completing 36,000m2 of concrete paving for the new aircraft apron. Specialty items such as a 175m long aircraft blast fence and glycol retention systems were also completed while adhering to airport standards and agreements.
