The RR20 – Smithville project was completed for the Regional Municipality of Niagara and the Township of West Lincoln. It consisted of approximately 1.5 kilometers of road reconstruction and approximately 1 kilometer of road rehabilitation. Included in the reconstruction was the creation of two new round-abouts and the reconfiguration of a 3-way signalized intersection. The two large round-abouts are located entering or exiting Town limits and the new traffic signal controlled intersection at its center. Also constructed for the Township of West Lincoln where two beautiful parkettes, one of which utilizes an underground stormwater management system and includes decorative concrete, signage, and seating.
Material requirements consisted of approximately 9,100 tonne of asphalt, 1,600m3 of concrete, 50,000 tonnes of stone and 1,000m of storm sewer systems.
This project was proudly completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
